A Brief History Of The DXMA

2015

The DxMA continues to gain momentum. Please visit the DxMA website to see the schedule for Dx-based events and new member benefits for 2016. DxMA launches two new programs: professional seminars at the American Society for Microbiology and the Association for Molecular Biology.

 

2014

DxMA celebrates its 40th anniversary.

 

2011

The Marketer  of the Year Award is created. This award is the highest accolade the DxMA offers for diagnostic  companies,  recognizing outstanding work that raises the bar in diagnostics marketing.

 

2008

More virtual learning tools added, including a MarketingToolkit, launch of the DxMA Web Cast Series and the addition of online job postings. The DxMA has a flexible membership structure making it easy for individuals and companies of all sizes to get involved!

 

2007

Joined the up and coming social media movement with a DxMA group on the professional networking site Linkedln. The DxMA also has a presence on Facebook and Twitter.

 

2006

The BMA changes its name to the DxMA- the Diagnostic Marketing Association - to more directly reflect the interests of professionals who benefit from our considerable offerings. A new website is launched - www.dxma.org.

 

2004

The BMA brings back the IME program with a sold out event at Babson College. The DxMA now hosts Local Networking Meetings across the nation to bring diagnostic professionals together.

 

2001

Diagnostic Insight goes live online.

 

1998

The BMA launches www.bmaonline.org - the association's first website.


The Jerry Goldsmith Award for Excellence is created to recognize the contribution made by an individual to the growth and impact of the DxMA. The 2015 recipient was Ken Levy, PhD, MBA.


1995

The BMA launches Diagnostic Insight - a quarterly publication.

 

1992

The first BMA Seminar is held in conjunction with the AACC Annual Meeting in Chicago. Now retitled “DxMA Seminar@AACC”, it will be held in 2016 at the AACC Annual Meeting, July 31 in Philadelphia.

 

1989

The first Dx Awards Program, recognizing  “the best of the best” in diagnostics marketing is held in Cambridge, MA. Entries are now being accepted for the 2015 awards.

 

1978

The inaugural BMA Annual Conference is held in Tarrytown, NY. The 2016 Global Marketing Summit, the DxMA’s Annual Conference, will be held April 13-14 in San Diego, CA.

 

1974

The Biomedical Marketing Association (BMA) is founded.
